I can’t believe it has been a year already! And what a year it’s been !?.

As I write this, I am flabbergasted that Vitafresh is a year old, and to say that I am proud of what we have achieved in the first year would be an understatement!

As we all know it is a difficult time for us all at the moment and my thoughts are with people who are in less fortunate industries that have been hit harder with COVID 19. The catering sector within our world of fresh produce has been hit very badly but we are seeing good volumes for the retail sector so it has been a year of diversifying and being as adaptable as possible.

With Brexit looming too, we are sure to face more uncertain times with logistics and the way we buy our overseas produce but one thing is for sure - people will always need to eat.

I have been in this industry for 18 years and often thought about starting my own business but I was waiting for the right time. I know now that I did the right thing and am very fortunate to have been able to cherry-pick everything from our staff to the produce we sell and the office we trade from.

Vitafresh is a combination of all the best things I have learned since I was a teenager starting out importing fruit and selling it to local farm shops.

The key ingredients for me are loyalty, transparency, and sustainability. We operate with these traits in everything we do at Vitafresh and that is why we have a bright future ahead of us.

I am so thankful to all of our growers who have supported us - it simply would not be possible to succeed without all the lovely produce we have from all around the world.

Of course,  I am hugely thankful to our lovely customers! The support has been astonishing!

Finally I want to thank my loyal team; Dani and Tim who have made it all possible, I couldn’t do it without their hard work.

It’s a very volatile job we do with highs and lows in the market but we do it because it’s fun and we love the relationships we make with customers and suppliers all over the globe.

The future for Vitafresh is looking very exciting and plans are already in place to grow the team and to add new and exciting products and reach new and unexplored territories around the world.

I want to extend a huge thank you to everybody that has supported us along the way as we look forwards to year 2 and many more successful years.

Thanks,

Daniel Badger
