Lime Market Update

The UK lime season has been difficult over the past few months due to oversupply, but it is slowly starting to look up.

Managing Director of Vitafresh, Daniel Badger explains, “There was an unexpectedly high volume of limes from Brazil in December that caused the market to crash. However, supply is beginning to decrease and prices are slowly increasing, yet it is still difficult to acquire good limes since Brazil has been receiving a lot of rain. We currently has access to some great quality, very green limes, which is what the UK market is looking for. The seasonal increase in demand coupled with more pleasant weather, could potentially raise demand even further. We can provide fresh, high-quality limes year-round from several countries such as Dominican Republic, Colombia, Peru, Mexico, and Brazil. We mainly supply wholesale but due to short supply we are also gaining interest from retailers.”
